Attitude is Contagious

Updated: Jun 9, 2018

It's not about deciding if you are a 'glass is half full or glass is half empty person.' It's about realizing that you can refill it.

Your attitude impacts everything, your job, your relationships and your life. A positive attitude is far more important than talent or intellect. When you're having a bad day, there's a domino effect and suddenly everyone is having a bad day. I'm not saying everything has to be sunshine and roses every single day, but a bad attitude is like manure. It stinks, and it's hard to get rid of.

Tap into your happiness chemicals. Laughter releases endorphins (and by the way chocolate has been linked to this!). Serotonin is released when you feel valued and have gratitude (gratitude journal anyone?). Dopamine is the rush we get when we complete tasks, encouraging us to do it again. So write down that to do list and start check things off (ate chocolate-CHECK!).

Then go ahead and spread your great attitude around. Take a moment and make a difference. Tell the cashier at the grocery store something nice about your experience, leave a chocolate bar in the mailbox for the mailman or email a friend a Starbuck's gift card. Be reckless and crazy and make the world happy today.

A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing,

But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
